Why JuicyGym?
Why not? There’s nothing wrong with expressing your thoughts and opinions about something. It could be gossip, but it doesn’t have to be. And your local gym is the one place where all cross-sections of people truly converge, and in an unmistakably, unavoidably hyper-sexualized environment. This of course makes for some serious juice.
Are there any real benefits to JuicyGym?
Definitely. JuicyGym provides fun entertainment, which in itself is benefit enough, but believe it or not there’s a vision behind the madness. JuicyGym is going to be a source of news and information about the fitness world. You’ll also be able to find, rate, rank, evaluate, and recommend gyms and trainers in your area. And for some of you, it’ll be a place where you can actually meet people you see every day at the gym but for whatever reason have been unable to approach.
Can I text a post to JuicyGym from my mobile phone?
Yep. JuicyGym is linked to Twitter, which is a free service that enables people to stay connected via the Web and their mobile devices. In order to take advantage of this feature on JuicyGym, you'll need to first establish a Twitter account at www.twitter.com. Signing up is easy and only takes a few minutes.
How do I text a post to JuicyGym from my mobile phone?
You first need to set up a Twitter account at www.twitter.com. Once your account is activated and synched to your mobile phone, you can text JuicyGym through Twitter's main number, which is 40404. Make sure to first type in @juicygym before you type in your actual message. Otherwise, you'll just be sending your message to Twitter. The @juicygym prefix specifies that you want your text sent to JuicyGym. Also, Twitter only allows you to text up to 140 characters, so keep your juice short and sweet.
Are text messages on JuicyGym anonymous?
Your text messages will show up anonymously on JuicyGym. However, they will be logged on your Twitter account. We therefore advise that you protect your updates on Twitter so that only those you approve will see your posts. You can do this by adjusting the options in the Settings section of your Twitter account. If you have additional questions about Twitter, check out Twitter's Help section.
Is JuicyGym really completely anonymous?
JuicyGym requires no registration, login, email verification or personal information to use the site, so you’re free to anonymously express your thoughts and opinions as you wish.
Meeting someone on JuicyGym?
JuicyGym has the potential to be a real hotbed (no pun intended) for missed connections at the gym. Hitting on someone at the gym is generally considered tacky, but it’s not on JuicyGym. On JuicyGym you can take things well beyond just briefly locking eyes with someone whenever you two happen to work out at the gym at the same time. Of course, the trick is for both of you to know about JuicyGym so you can actually be able to make the connection. We’re working on that part, but you can help us out by letting your friends know about us. Word-of-mouth is what makes the juice flow.
How does a missed connection work?
Be as detailed as possible in your message posting. Include location, dates and times. Be sure to fill out all the required fields, and tag your post with the words ‘connect’ or ‘connection.’ Others will then be able to search for your connection posts at your specific gym in your specific city. Perhaps one day you’ll get a hit. It’ll likely take a critical mass for this to happen, so please be patient with us as we grow since we’re brand new.
What are Dirt Alerts?
Dirt Alerts are occasional emails highlighting new features of the site or relevant news. We recommend that you sign up for these if you want to be kept abreast of our growth and changes.
What about privacy?
You can’t control what other people say about you, but you can control what you say about them. To that end we ask that you be mindful of what you post on JuicyGym. As a courtesy (but not a requirement), please do not post someone’s last name. Besides, you can be plenty descriptive without having to include somebody’s full name in your message. JuicyGym is not in the business of limiting free speech, but we do reserve the right to delete postings at will or for any other reason. For more details about privacy, check out our Privacy Policy.
Are there any restrictions on what I can post on JuicyGym?
You are free to post what you like on JuicyGym, but we do reserve the right to remove any postings that are openly racist, sexist, gay-bashing or otherwise offensive. We may also remove specific postings at a user’s request on a per request basis. You should not post anything that you know is untruthful because, among other things, it is against the law. Please refer to our Terms of Use page for more details on what types of content we prohibit. JuicyGym reserves the right to remove and/or restrict access to any content at any time and for any reason.
Who is responsible for the content posted on the site?
The person who posts the content is responsible for the content. JuicyGym only provides the forum for the content, but itself is not liable or responsible for any of the information posted by users on the site. For more information, check out the site's Terms and Conditions.
Can I delete my postings?
You cannot delete an original, top-line posting once it has been submitted. If you want to have it deleted, you must send us an email at contact@juicygym.com requesting that the post be deleted. The email must include the title of the post as well. We may delete it, but we are not required to do so.
Will people know who I am if I post a message on JuicyGym?
There is no place on the site for you or any other user to post personal information, so, unless you purposely include your name or email address in a posting, there is no way for another user to know who you are from your postings on the site.
Are there ways for my posting to be tracked back to me?
We are not aware of any way that you, as a person, can be tracked down, but there are ways to track what computer you have used. If for some reason you’re particularly concerned about traceability, then you would need to address this as you would any other site on the Internet (i.e., IP-cloaking, etc.). JuicyGym believes in the safeguarding of free speech online but will fully comply with a lawful subpoena in the VERY rare event that we receive one.
How do I report something that is untrue or offensive? An underage user?
You can send an email to contact@juicygym.com. Please include the title of the posting you are reporting in the body of the email, as well as why you think it is untrue or offensive. If you believe a user is under the age of 18, you must provide a reason why. We reserve the right to take down any posting, but we do not have to respond to every user’s deletion request.
What if I have a question that is not listed here?
You can always send us an email at contact@juicygym.com with any other questions or concerns that you have related to the site. We will try to respond as quickly as we can but can not guarantee a response to every single email we receive.
